Providence and Whole Foods team up for the holidays!

During this, the season of thanks and giving, Providence once again hosted Thanksgiving Dinner at Sojourner Truth Neighborhood Center. Held on the evening of November 18, the event was even bigger than the previous year. In partnership with our community sponsor and food provider, Whole Foods, 187 meals were distributed to residents and community members residing within Faubourg Lafitte. Over 200 people were there. It was a great time to see members of the community come out in thanksgiving and support of each other, and Faubourg Lafitte.

Among our community partners at the event were Providence Community Housing board members and staff, Whole Foods staff, members of the Faubourg Lafitte Tenants Association, Bayou Soap Co., Young Audiences, High Voltage Youth Organization, True Love Movement, Delisha Boyd LLC, students from Loyola University’s School of Mass Communication. Those in attendance were treated to the musical sounds of Nyce, while children were amused and entertained by balloon sculpturer-extraordinaire, Kyle Johnston.
