Providence Community Housing focuses on developing quality affordable apartments and homes for individuals and families throughout the Greater New Orleans area. Initially established in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, leading to a partnership with Enterprise Community Partners to redevelop the former Lafitte public housing development into Faubourg Lafitte, Providence’s work has helped to catalyze a renewal in neighborhood investment and resident engagement. Providence also partners with national organizations, Artspace (Bell Artspace Campus) and Columbia Residential (Sacred Heart at St. Bernard), to provide quality affordable homes for families, artists and culture-bearers instrumental to the tapestry of New Orleans.
