Providence Community Housing initially focused on rebuilding a large inventory of multi-family senior housing stock owned by the Archdiocese of New Orleans throughout the area, post-Katrina. Providence has now carried this expertise into additional senior housing efforts.
It is Providence’s intent to grow its affordable senior housing portfolio through both new development opportunities and acquisitions of existing senior projects in need of maintenance & rehabilitation. Providence intends to integrate service coordination into the operations of all affordable senior properties. Our goal is to construct or upgrade & operate over 2,000 affordable senior units within the next 5 years. This growth plan is consistent with the needs identified by HousingNOLA and fits within the City of New Orleans Consolidated Plan.
