Providence Employees Receive Prestigious CHAM Designation

Providence Community Housing is pleased to announce that Ron Davalos and Alex Whatley have been officially awarded the prestigious designation, Certified Housing Asset Manager (CHAM). This follows a long, tedious process over several years that has included attendance at several NeighborWorks’ National Training Institutes, many classes, and an intense capstone project for each.

The Consortium for Housing and Asset Management (CHAM) recognizes that nonprofit asset management is difficult work, requiring specialized skills. In response, CHAM developed a designation program to train professionals in this skill set and recognize their achievement.

Called the Certified Housing Asset Manager™, the designation was developed by the Enterprise Social Investment Corp., the National Equity Fund and NeighborWorks America with participation from IREM (the Institute of Real Estate Management).

Upon the successful completion of the  Training Curriculum and fulfilling the various requirements, candidates will earn their CHAM designation.

Today, the CHAM professional designation is emerging as THE premier affordable housing credential within the Asset Management field.
